Dog Training Year Round at the Bird Dog Lounge
The name of our kennel is "Rock Ridge Retriever Kennel".
Our kennel is located on the Wagon Wheel Ranch and has been
is business for 12 years. The kennel has access to
over 4000 acres of prime hunting habitat and has over 20
lakes and ponds on the property.
Our motto is "to maximize
your dogs potential". We use positive reinforcement
training techniques and have turned out hundreds of successful
hunting dogs over the years. During your dogs stay
at the kennel, your dog will be exposed to birds and various
cover types on a daily basis. Your dog will learn
all of the basic obedience commands, whistle training,
force fetch (for solid delivery to hand of birds, dummies,
etc.), collar conditioning (only as a reinforcement of
already known commands), field experience, with actual
flushing and retrieving of live birds, to simmulate a day
in the hunting fields. Water
training for duck hunting, with decoy, blind, and boat
training available also.
You and your dog will work
together at the end of the program, in order to build the
two of you into a new, successful hunting team. Our
new kennel facility was built in 2005 and all the dog kennels
are in doors for safety and security. Your dog will
have his/her own private kennel run. Your dog is
allowed out into our fenced in airing yard 3 times daily
for maximum cleanliness. Your
dog will follow the same training course that many
of the hunting lodges in the state have had their
dogs trained under.
